Caroline Wheaton

Caroline Wheaton is a self-taught, British artist and sculptor based in London and Chamonix.  She paints mainly in acrylic and ink.  She sculpts using stone, cast metals, plaster-based materials and resins.

Caroline’s corporate experience as Chief Operating Officer and Company Secretary of a FTSE company means that she understands the challenges faced by senior female leaders.

Now she focuses solely on her artistic practice, part of which includes the design and running of innovative creative workshops which challenge traditional thinking patterns and help her clients to gain alternative perspectives.

Her painting (www.chalet-art.com) reflects the mountain environment in which she lives.  Landscapes and mountain sport dominate her work as she captures the physicality of her surrounds and the people who enjoy this extreme terrain.

This physicality and her fascination with anatomy and physiology is explored more deeply in her sculpture (www.carolinewheaton.com) which centres on all things human.  How we are put together, what makes us tick, how we adapt to our wider environment, how we portray ourselves…past & present.  She has travelled widely over the decades and, to a large extent, those travel experiences inform her work.
